My wife's grt grandfather x 3 and his brother were convicted of sheep stealing at Sibsey in 1830 and sentenced to death, later changed to transportation to Van Diemen's Land for life. They were sent to the Prison Hulk Dolphin at Chatham before being transported on the Convict Ship Red Rover, what a, high a price to pay, they would only have got a slap on the wrist these days. robinnoreply@blogger.com
