  2. It's only a guess but I suppose 100/150 years ago most of the inhabitants were immigrants from all the counties of England so gave them a "taste" of back home.

  3. Youre probably right there Billy. On that note I once heard that the new Zealand accent is how British people used to sound before the advent of the queen's English as when colonists went out there they took and preserved that way of speaking. So when you read Shakespeare you should do so imagining the characters speaking in a new Zealand accent!
